How To Get Started:
Raw feeding can seem like a complicated and daunting task at first. Trying to balance meals and finding the correct proportions can be difficult. If preparing your dog's raw food doesn't appeal to you, there are still dozens of other ways to go about raw feeding. Scope out local pet suppliers and vet clinics for distributors of pre-made and balanced raw food, and ideally, someone who can mentor you as you learn the basics.

Alternatives:
While we encourage our puppy owners to feed their Poodles raw whenever possible, we understand this is not always possible. Adding even 50% of raw or fresh food to your dogs diet will have innumerable benefits. Here are some alternatives to straight raw feeding:
- Homemade cooked diet
- Fresh supplement: Just like people love variety, most dogs love trying new food. If your dog is mainly kibble fed, add some different foods to his bowl once in a while. I.e., an egg (raw or cooked, shell included), kale, kefir (amazing probiotic), olive oil, coconut oil, blueberries, chicken/turkey necks (raw only), chicken feet (raw or dehydrated), bone broth, cucumber, liver (raw or cooked), etc. These will provide your dog with all sorts of different vitamins and nutrients, and make meal time much more exciting.
- High-quality kibble: We recommend Petcurean's Now Fresh, a premium brand dog food. Petcurean has several other brands to fit each individual dog's dietary needs. Other great brands include Orijen, Acana, Fromm, Farmina, and Pro Plan. You can always switch your dog's diet up a bit, mixing brands every so often to provide a more balanced diet with added variety. It is crucial to monitor your dog while trying them on a different food. A dog thriving on his/her diet will have:
- small, firm stool
- healthy, shiny coat
- good energy
- no itchy skin, excessive dandruff, etc.
