Both parents are fully health tested, CHIC certified, and are overall healthy, confident, and well-tempered dogs.
Hazel is owned & loved by my sister, and is truly the "bees knees," as we call her. Hazel loves anything and everything about being outdoors, and loves going on walks, meeting new people, "helping" us garden, wading in the creek, and intercepting the other dogs' games of fetch by stealing the ball and running off with it. Hazel has great front and rear angulation, good forechest, lovely tight feet, and good headpiece with long ear leather and a proper ear set. She is a very friendly, alert dog and has been an attentive mother to her past puppies.
Dash is an active and outgoing boy. True to his name, he is lightning fast and has no trouble keeping up with Standard Poodles. He has a very thick, course coat, nice short back, wonderful head carriage, balanced reach and drive, great pigment, and passes on his beautiful face to his puppies. Dash is co-owned local to us. He and his wonderful owner, Steph, have been successful in the performance ring, and Dash's past pups have been incredibly biddable, easy-to-train puppies with great food- and toy-drive.
What we anticipate:
As this is a repeat breeding, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from this upcoming litter. I anticipate puppies with solid angulation, good carriage, proper head/facial structures and good bites, and great coats, who mature to be around 6-8 lbs. Active and outgoing; and most of all, wanting to be with their people and do everything that their family is doing.
There is potential for grooming competition prospects as our last litter had wonderful, thick coats that grew like weeds! The pups also seemed to be very comfortable with being groomed, even from a young age. We will hold conformation evaluations and hopefully select our next keeper puppy to show.
I saw a lot of grandma Trudy's workability and drive come through in our last litter, and expect that the upcoming puppies will have apt for performance sports (such as agility, obedience, scent detection, and the like). An active family home would also be very suitable. Those puppies loved to work, and their minds were little evil geniuses :)
